this was sent to me by a friend - it was written by David Cates - and I would like to share this with you. Happy New Year to all of you.


A Proposal for Changing the World without Fighting and Struggle and Sacrifice
I want to find a way for each of us to do what brings us joy... not in a narcissistic self-absorbed way... but joy and passion that we share... that raises the collective vibration and energizes those around us...
I believe this is a far better way to fuel a revolution... from full cups rather than empty ones... from overflow, not endless sacrifice...
A Love Revolution must be built on love... not anger... this is tricky... but I've seen how it works... in myself as well as others...
It's about breaking the cycle... an emotional cycle... having the courage to say "No more division"..."No more demonizing"... and then living fully in the world as love... not devolving into righteous anger... not acting from duty or fear...
I've seen that people in fulfillment, living their passion, are catalysts for others... encouraging, modeling, a life built on love... a life worth living...
When we do what's ours to do, by following our bliss... the world does change...
I have friends who believe that all these passions should be set aside while we attack the world's imbalances... I say no... take a breath here... we balance the world by first balancing ourselves... becoming conduits for joy... doing what we love...
I've yet to meet a deeply fulfilled person who isn't overflowing attention and action and resources to help those in need... who isn't actively creating new solutions to intractable problems... who isn't inspiring their circles of influence... who isn't giving from a deep well of gratitude for all the blessings that they daily receive...
Turning to our own passions and joy isn't turning our backs on those who are suffering... it's an exercise that strengthens our capacity to DO something about that suffering... to be resourced... creatively turned on... connected to the whole through open grateful hearts...
On so many levels, someone who is happy and fulfilled and making money and engaged with life... someone who is exploring new ways and seeing with new eyes... is someone who is now positioned to contribute in substantial ways...
This is what a revolution needs... empowered deeply happy people... resourced and leveraged and connected... and motivated by their own joy... to share their passions... and to want everyone around them to be equally empowered and fulfilled...
By taking this approach... by stepping back from the war and gathering power and wisdom and joy... we can re-enter the world... not as an enemy doing battle... but as a beloved introducing joy...
What we can do from this position... without effort or ego... leaves no bitter aftertaste of division... creates no unintended consequences... generates no further karma...
We bring everyone into the circle... and show them how to be powerful, loving, turned-on creators of a new reality... following their unique bliss... contributing to the whole... belonging...
Someone who knows how to follow their bliss and do what they love... has zero interest in exploiting others... will not be generating fear and anger... will leave the planet better than they found it...
I trust this process... I've seen it work... it’s time now to inspire more people to step away from fighting and struggling and sacrificing... and turn toward what brings them joy... embrace that joy... and share it with the rest of us...
This is how the world will change... when our hearts catch fire... one heart at a time... when we do what we love… and share from the bottomless well of our own passion…
Turn within… take a deep breath… find your passion… and imagine a world ignited by your love…
Now follow that bliss… and watch the world change around you!
